With the resignation of former president Ruaraidh Dobson, Kristian Chapman the now Acting President released a statement earlier today putting forward his vision for Liberal Youth Scotland.
“I wanted to take this time to say a very large thank you to Ruaraidh for everything he has done over the past 18 months. Ruaraidh helped create and guide this organisation. Making it the strong student organisation that we see today.
It is great honour for Callum and I to be leading an organisation with such enthusiasm and talent in built into it. Liberal Youth Scotland has come so far from when it started in November 2008, that’s now at the heart of policy making in a major political party and entering into one of the most exciting general elections in our party’s history.
This year will see the Liberal Democrats being the driving force behind a new era of politics, in the words of Nick Clegg, Leader of the Liberal Democrats, “2010 must be the year we press the political reset button”. We have a strong and clear message, striving for equality, liberty and reform of our outdated political system, and I am very happy to say Liberal Youth Scotland will be a part of this movement for change.
There is allot of different ways in which you can get involved with Liberal Youth Scotland. Come join us at one of our many Action Events that we are holding up and down the country, join your local University Society or help promote us on Facebook by joining and sharing our Fanpage.
